Triggerfish Gold!

It is only fitting that Goldfish kept things in the family by getting Matthew Torode (concept artist for "Khumba" at Triggerfish Animation Studios) to direct their new music video for "Washing Over Me ft. Morning Parade".

Check out the music video here. Oh, and those awesome background paintings of the Mayan scenes and spaceship interiors? All done by our very own uber talented Daniel Clarke!

One for the Money

Meet the newest member of the Triggerfish Team, Jean-Michel. He has over 15 years’ experience  – take a deep breath – in financial reporting and analysis, internal controls, project work, due diligence and financial modelling, and has come on board as our (first ever) Chief Financial Officer.

What did you do before joining Triggerfish?
I’ve worked in finance for most of my career. Before returning to Cape Town, I was with the London-based Matrix Group, initially in their film finance team before moving into more general structured finance investments. Prior to my MBA degree, I was an Associate for (world-renowned financial institution) JP Morgan Chase & Co. in their Futures & Options business.

What drew you to Triggerfish?
I love movies & I’ve been following the progress of Triggerfish for a few years now so I’m excited to come on-board. There is huge potential here.

What is your vision for the company going forward?
I’d love to see Triggerfish establish itself as a global media & entertainment company bringing a fresh & unique creative voice to its stories be it in films, eBooks or casual games.

What's your favourite animated film?
I’m a big Tim Burton fan so it would have to be Corpse Bride. It’s just a beautiful story.

Which animated character do you identify the most with and why?
I’ll cheat here & say Jeff Bridges gave a fantastically “animated” performance as The Dude in The Big Lebowski. I laughed for a week after watching that film. Never take yourself too seriously.

If you could be any Triggerfish character (from Zambezia or Khumba), who would it be?
Perhaps a genetic mutation of Cecil & Ezee!
